Cool Mats

The SherBert Stuff Cool Mats are designed with multiple tubes filled with our Special

Cooling Crystals and a spacer tube. The mats are made to be used in the bottom of a dog crate, on the grass or on a patio/deck to keep your dog comfortable in the hot weather. The special design with the spacer tubes, allows the dog to push the mat over to get off the "coolness" or to spread it out to cover the bottom of the crate. This is especially useful when transporting a dog via motor vehicle or airplane. It gives them a choice as to whether they need to be cool or not. The mats are easy to transport since they need NO refrigeration and can be used with all sizes of dogs.

Our mats come in four sizes: Large which is approximately 24" x 30", Small which is approximately 15" x 24", Square which is approximately 18" x 18" and Mini which is approximately 12" x 15". The mat only needs to be the length of the dog's body since this is where the blood vessels are close to the surface of the skin. It does not have to be long enough for the length of the legs when the dogs lie down. We always have a variety of colors in stock. Call or email us for colors and availability.

Large (24" X 30") $48.00
Small (15" X 24") $36.00
Square (18" X 18") $30.00
Mini (12" x 15") $25.00

Cool Coats
Our most popular offering is the Cool Coat. This coat, unlike many others on the market, does not weigh as much as the dog it is intended to fit. It has our Special Cooling Crystals only in the areas where the major blood vessels are close to the surface of the skin.

In consultation with a variety of veterinarians, we devised a system of tubes to hold our cool crystals in the areas of the dog's body where the arteries and veins are closest to the surface of the skin. We make this happen by sewing tubes in the coats around the neck, down the chest to cool the lung areas, in the leg/body joints and along the belly and into the groin areas. By cooling these "pulse points", we cool the blood. The dog's heart pumps the cooled blood throughout the body, acting as the dog's own internal air conditioning system for the hot weather. The end result is a coat that weighs very little, yet stays cool for an extended time with absolutely no refrigeration - only soaking in warm or tap water. The coat for a 100 pound dog, such as a Rottweiler, generally weighs less than five pounds!

We currently carry 48 sizes to fit all breeds. This allows us to fit the unique shapes of many of the breeds who have a problem finding coats that fit them correctly. For example:

1. Regular Sizing for the breeds that are full bodied and square, such as the Am Staff, Rottweiler and many of the working breeds.

2. H Sizing for the breeds that have square bodies, but not wide across the front, such as many of the hound breeds or herding breeds. These coats are cut narrower across the front, but keep the full body length along the sides.

3. S Sizing for the breeds that are narrow across the front, but have an extra deep chest and a significant tuck-up such as most of the sight hounds, the retrievers and some of the toy breeds. These are cut to eliminate all that extra material that bunches around the tuck up area and are cut an inch or two narrower across the front.

4. L Sizing for the short legged breeds like Dachshund, Corgi or Basset Hound. These are cut up sharply in the front so the dogs do not trip over the front of the coat as they trot and are cut longer to accommodate that lengthy body;

5. D Sizing for the broad bodied breeds that need that little bit of extra around the belly and along the body such as many of the smaller terriers, the French Bulldog, Pug and Bulldog. These have an additional inch or two cut all along the bottom edge of the sides of the coat and are cut wider across the front.

Small Sizes
Our small coats have a single tube of our special cooling crystals going completely around the coat. It cools the blood vessels around the neck, in the lung area and along the belly in the joint areas. If you have a young dog or a smaller one, the tubes can overlap on the stomach to reach the opposite side of the dog. This allows you to use one coat on a variety of dogs or to allow a dog to grow into it's coat, so you don't have to purchase two sizes.

The closures on the smaller coats are made of polyester ribbon with hook and loop (velcro-type) fasteners. For the convenience of the handlers all the "hook" sides of the fasteners are sewn to the body of the coat so that it won't get caught or tangle in the dog's hair. The "loop," or soft side of the fasteners, are sewn to the ribbon ends which will not harm the dog's skin or coat if they come in contact with it. The small coats have three to five inches of adjustment on the sides of the coat and two to three inches on the front of the coat, depending on the size of the dog.

Large Sizes
Our large coats are also designed to allow for growth or use by a variety of dogs. They have double tubes of the special cooling crystals on the sides. The smaller dogs will use the upper tube and the larger dogs will use the lower one so that it tucks into the "armpit" of the dog and follows along the stomach to the back legs and the groin area. That allows you to use one coat for a variety of dogs.

The larger coats make use of a polyester webbing with durable, double sided snap buckles and slides to hold the coat in place. They have approximately three to five inches of adjustment in the front and six to ten inches around the stomach, depending on the size of the coats. All the closures are on the "handler" side of the dog so the coat can easily be removed.

Cool Neck Rolls

Our Cool Neck Rolls have become a very popular product and use the same Special Cooling Crystals as the Cool Mats and Cool Coats. They are effective in cooling dogs and people by cooling the arteries and veins on the side of the neck so that the heart can circulate the cooled blood throughout the body.

We have expanded our popular Cool Neck Rolls to accommodate the various sized dogs and people. We have the "Small" and "Mini" sizes for the mid-size and smaller dogs, as well as our "Regular" size for the larger dogs. The Regular size is used often for people; and this past year we have expanded our line to include a "Double" neck roll which will cool people more thoroughly and also work well for the long necked larger dogs. They will stay cool with NO refrigeration from four days to two weeks depending on the size of the tubes and the humidity and wind in the air.

Double $20.00
Regular $15.00
Small $ 10.00
Mini $ 9.00

Cool Hat Mats

Our Cool Hat Mats keep people cool as they show dogs, work in their yards, or just spend time outdoors in hot weather. They are round mini mats, like our regular Cool Mats, with the Special Cooling Crystals in areas in the center of the hat mats. They are designed to attach to the inside of a hat with sticky backed hook and loop (velcro-type) closure. It puts the coolness on top of the head where so many of the blood vessels are located, so that the heart can pump the cooled blood thoughout the body to help keep you cool. The Hat Mats come in two sizes, Large (9" diameter) and Small (8" diameter) to fit most sizes of hats. Like our other products, they never need refrigeration and stay cool for approximately a week depending on the humidity and wind.

Large  (9" diameter) $15.00
Small   (8" diameter) $15.00

Cool Wrist Wraps/Cool Can Mats

One of our favorite cool products is the Wrist Wrap. This a tiny version of a cool mat that wraps around your wrist and is held in place by a hook and loop (velcro-type) closure. This hook and loop allows the tiny mat to be adjusted to fit your wrist snuggly to keep the tiny tubes with the special cooling crystals against the veins and arteries in the wrist. The Wrist Wrap will stay cool for two to three days, depending on the humidity and wind. It will cool your blood as well as allow you to slide your arm under the dog's belly, between the front legs or around it's neck area to help cool the dog when it is actually in the show ring. This product is especially useful for the coated breeds that can't wear a cool coat that might crush their coat and ruin a grooming job before being shown, especially when it is important to keep the dog's coat dry before showing.

Another use for the Cool Wrist Wrap is to cool a can or bottle. This tiny Can Mat can be hydrated, the surface dried and then frozen. When you take it out of the freezer it crunches!  You use the hook and loop closure to wrap it around a can or bottle of beverage to keep it nice and cool in the hot weather. Once it is no longer frozen, it still stays at the 62 degrees as our other products until the crystals evaporate.   We do caution you NOT to freeze it for use with a dog as it may cause the dog to go into shock! Freezing the crystals is only recommended for use for cooling beverages.

Cool Handler Pouches

Our Cool Handler's Pouch was developed to help cool the dogs in the ring and keep the handler cool at the same time. It is slightly bulkier than the Cool Wrist Wraps, but many owners and handlers still prefer it as it stays cool for approximately a week, depending on the weather and humidity. This is a small pouch (ranging from 2" x 2" to 4" x 4") with a double-sided hook and loop (velcro type) strap. When the pouch is soaked in warm tap water and allowed to dry, it will remain cool and dry for 3 -5 days with NO refrigeration. It is designed to fold in half so that it can be tucked in the handler's pocket or worn on the handler's wrist. It then can be placed on the dog's chest or between the front or rear legs to keep the dog cool when actually in the ring. When worn on the wrist, It can be used to keep the handler cool too! This product is especially useful for the coated breeds that can't wear a cool coat that might ruin a grooming job before being shown, especially when it is important to keep the dog's coat dry before showing.

Rain Coats

Our Rain Coats are made from several easy care fabrics. The Water Repellent or Water Proof Nylon and Polyester fabrics are all machine washable and dryable. Our Pleather line of raincoats are a synthetic, water repellent, leather-look fabric and are hand washable. We also carry a line of coats that have a wind-proof exterior layer of sport nylon that is machine washable and dryable. All the coats are lined with either polyester fleece, poly-cotton flannel or nylon fabric for comfort and durability. They are designed to keep the body of the dog dry when out in a moderate rain or snow. We carry a variety of colors and patterns in the fabrics. As with our Cool Coats, we currently carry 48 sizes to fit all breeds. This allows us to fit the unique shapes of many of the breeds who have a problem finding coats that fit them correctly. For example:

Squish Beds

Our Squish Beds are loved by all dogs from the smallest to the largest even though they were originally designed with the extra large breeds in mind. Many of the larger breeds like Danes or Mastiffs are unable to find beds that are large enough for them to comfortably spread out and stretch, yet still be easily washable. The Squish Beds fill that need. They were so popular with the giant breeds that we expanded the sizing to include the smaller breeds.

These beds have a washable interior pillow that is 100% polyester filled. The outer coverings are made of a variety of fabrics and color combinations, such as fleece, polyester gabardine, denim and cotton blends. These outer covers are removable by way of a zippered opening and can be easily tossed into the washer and dryer. We currently carry eleven different sizes from six feet by six feet to one foot by one foot. Call or email us for availability of color combinations.
